Introduction to AUXLAB
AUXLAB is an integrated environment for sound generation, processing, visualization, and audio playback, based on the programming language AUX, short for AUdio syntaX.
AUXLAB supports:
- audio manipulation
- plotting of audio and non-audio data
- audio playback/recording
- algorithm implementation
Although AUXLAB is primarily intended for audio processing, it also provides general-purpose computation and data handling features.
While the syntax of AUXLAB resembles MATLAB in some ways, AUXLAB has its own syntax conventions and several operators designed specifically for sound work.
Documentation Gaps Noted In Older Source
The older help content explicitly notes that documentation is still incomplete in these areas:
- user-defined functions
- general how-to information
- the debugger
- the custom user interface module
- complete graphics object property documentation
- special
#reserves and related task shortcuts
