Debugging UDFs

auxlab2 now includes a dedicated UDF Debug Window for editing and stepping through loaded UDF files.

Opening The Debug Window

Current menu entries include:

When a UDF file is opened, the debug window can load that file, show its current breakpoints, and keep it available for stepping.

Breakpoints

The current app supports breakpoint toggling from both the menu and the debug window.

Available control:

In the debug window, pressing F9 toggles the breakpoint on the current cursor line.

What The Window Shows

The current UDF Debug Window includes:

When execution pauses, the app moves the editor cursor to the paused line and centers the view there.

Typical Workflow

  1. Open a .aux file with File > Open UDF....
  2. Show the debug window.
  3. Put the cursor on a line and press F9 to set a breakpoint.
  4. Run the UDF from AUXLAB.
  5. When execution pauses, use F10, F11, Shift+F11, or F5 to continue stepping.
  6. Save edits directly in the debug window if needed.
